2008 Fall Camp: Day 13 Practice Report

ATHENS - No. 1-ranked Georgia returned to work on Monday after having Sunday off from practice and worked out for two hours and 15 minutes.

After participating in UGA¹s annual Picture Day festivities at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, the Bulldogs joined the rest of the student body as they began their fall semester in the classroom Monday. The Bulldogs wrapped up their final two-a-day portion of their practice last Friday.

³Considering this was the first day of school and there were a lot of things going on for these guys, I think we had a pretty good day,² said head coach Mark Richt.

Richt was also encouraged to see less green jerseys on the field Monday. The Bulldogs wearing green jerseys are either ³non-contact² players who are injured or are reserved for the quarterbacks.

³There was a lot less green out there today so I was pleased some guys got some work for the first time in a while,² Richt said.

After losing sophomore left tackle Trinton Sturdivant to a season-ending knee injury, Richt also addressed his thoughts about the offensive line.

³Vince (Vance) has done a very nice job. Chris Davis has done a good job at center. Ben (Jones) is competing. The two guys who have been the most consistent are Vance and Chris,² said Richt. ³Vince has shown a lot of improvement in his play, his practice and his demeanor. He¹s more focused on getting the job done.²

Richt also said that senior snapper Bo Fowler is the No. 1 snapper, but that the position "is still up for grabs."
