Among the handful of players returning to full practice this week was freshman wide receiver A.J. Green, who has battled a nagging hip injury since camp opened.
Missing so much time has clearly set Green back a bit, Richt said, but Green's natural ability has helped him battle through some of the typical freshman mistakes.
"He's still got a long way to go," Richt said. "There's some things that he just does naturally really well, and there's just still that learning curve out there to try to understand the offense. There's a lot of nuances he's got to get comfortable with, but it's good to get him out there again. He needs it."
Even with the missed practice, Richt said Green definitely won't be seeing a redshirt this year.
"All I could tell you about him is we're going to get him in the game," Richt said. "I don't know when, but we'll get him in the game."
BUMPS AND BRUISES
Strickland suffered a foot injury in last week's scrimmage, but tried to play through it. By Tuesday, his foot was too sore, and he missed the day's practice. Richt said Strickland could be back by today.
"Right now the X-ray was negative on a break, and that's the main thing you worry about," Richt said.
Dent suffered a hip pointer, which Richt said the sophomore would likely have to simply play through.
"(It's) not too serious, kind of a deep bone bruise that sometimes can be helped out with medicine, sometimes it can't," Richt said. "He's going to have to suck it up on this one a little bit."
