Richt also addressed the media and discussed Saturday's date with the Tigers during his weekly press luncheon on Tuesday.
"It¹s a great rivalry," Richt said. "I think we all understand that. We are playing them for the 111th time. We are behind in the series 53-50 with eight ties, and the point differential is 40 or 50 points; not a lot of difference in the two teams. We know there is an awful lot of history involved with players from Auburn coaching at Georgia and players from Georgia coaching at Auburn. It¹s been pretty well documented. Of course we have two on our staff who played at Auburn and are coaching Georgia in Rodney Garner and Stacy Searels, so I know it¹s a big week for them. There has also been a great history of young men from the state of Georgia who are playing at Auburn. This year they have 25 on their roster, and quite a few of their playmakers are from Georgia. I know it will mean a lot to those kids on Auburn¹s team who are from the state of Georgia."
