Georgia Tech Week: Monday Practice Report

ATHENS - The Georgia football team, fresh off an open weekend, began preparations on Monday for this weekend¹s season-ending matchup with Georgia Tech.

The Bulldogs are 9-2 overall and wound up at 6-2 in the Southeastern Conference, while Georgia Tech is 8-3, including a 5-3 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

In a steady rain Monday evening, the Bulldogs worked out for approximately two hours on the Woodruff Practice Fields.

³It was a good start to the week,² Georgia coach Mark Richt said. ³It¹s going to take every man doing his job on offense, defense and special teams, and that¹s the mindset we must have. Any play could make the difference in this game. We have to practice all week with that in mind, and we started that way tonight.²

Richt said the members of the senior class will serve as captains on Saturday. Receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, fullback Brannan Southerland, defensive tackle Corvey Irvin and safety Andrew Williams will represent the offense, defense and special teams in decision-making situations.
