"We started doing a little bit on the Michigan State game plan today and I am impressed by the little I have seen on them for both sides of the ball," Richt said.
Earlier on Tuesday, six players were named to the All-Southeastern Conference Coaches' Team. Sophomore tailback Knowshon Moreno, senior split end Mohamed Massaquoi and sophomore linebacker Rennie Curran were first team selections while junior quarterback Matthew Stafford, freshman flanker A.J. Green and senior punter Brian Mimbs represented Georgia on the second team. Following practice, Richt expressed his excitement regarding Massaquoi's first-team selection.
"I knew Mohamed had a year like this in him," said Richt. "He has had a great senior year academically, socially and on the field. I couldn't be happier for how this year has turned out for him."
Richt said that he has confidence that Garner, who played and was an assistant at Auburn, would be a good choice for any team.
"I look at this as a wonderful opportunity for (Coach Garner) at his alma mater," Richt said. "(Auburn) is in the SEC and they have a great program. I think it's a tremendous compliment to Rodney."
The Bulldogs practice early in the morning on Wednesday before returning for their final practice of the week on Saturday morning.
