Dawgs' verbal thinks Sunshine State is fair game

Georgia's 19th commit is Carleton Medder. And according to Medder, Georgia can make a serious push for recruits in Florida from now on.

"It was basically the players," said Carleton Medder about the reason that he committed to Georgia over Florida State. "They remind me of my friends back at home," he added.

Medder took trips to both NC State and Florida State before picking the Dawgs. "I enjoyed the Georgia coaches," said Medder, "they are coaches that I feel like I can be around for four or five years."

But one coach, Georgia offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Neil Calloway, already has Medder's attention.

"I hear he was a hard guy," said Medder about what will be his new position coach. "That's alright, you have to do some hard things when you get on to college ball. I'm prepared for it."

Medder is 6-6 and 330 pounds. He was Georgia's 19th commitment of the 2003 recruiting season. And according to Medder, Georgia can make a serious push for recruits in Florida from now on. "Because Spurrier is gone (from Florida) and everyone is talking about Coach Bowden retiring soon, they're going out of state to coaches like Coach Richt."
