Speedy linebacker commits to Georgia

Marcus Howard is one of the fastest linebackers in the nation, and he is going to Georgia.

With three starting linebackers from their SEC Championship team headed to the NFL this season, Georgia has made a commitment to recruiting linebackers to fill the spot of Tony Gilbert, Boss Bailey and Chris Clemons. Jarvis Jackson made a commitment to Georgia yesterday morning, and now speedy linebacker Marcus Howard has made a commitment to the Dawgs as well.

"My trip to Athens went good," said Howard. "It went so good that I committed to them yesterday. I told Coach Richt while I was there that I was committing, and I called him back last night to confirm it. Clemson is still recruiting me. They didn't want me to go public with a commitment until they had a chance to come in on Tuesday, but Coach Crews (Howard's High School Coach) went public last night, so I think I am going to cancel the in home visit with Clemson. I'm done taking visits. I'm committed to Georgia."

Howard brings safety speed to the linebacker position. He had 110 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 4 interceptions as a senior. He was also named defensive MVP for his team in the North/South All-Star game in December.
