August 28, 2009: Georgia Practice Report

ATHENS - After taking a day off on Thursday, Georgia returned to the practice fields on Friday for a 90-minute session.

³I saw a lot of energy,² Georgia coach Mark Richt said. ³I really liked the way that they practiced. They had real good focus and that gave me a good feeling. We¹re almost there.²

The Bulldogs will hold Saturday¹s practice inside Sanford Stadium.

³We¹ll work on substitutions,² Richt said. ³We¹ll go from kickoff to defense to punt return to offense all the subbing that you have to do in a game. We¹ll also do some short-yardage and goal-line situations. We¹ll do a few plays live, just a few. We¹ve scripted what we think we need to see. It will be like a game without tackling to the ground.²

Richt said the coaches are finalizing the dress-out squad for the trip to Stillwater, Okla.

³We¹ll have 70 to 74 go to Oklahoma State,² Richt said. ³We¹re not taking anyone who can¹t play and who can¹t give us a chance to win.²
