Georgia (6-5) enters the contest after losing to Tech last year for the first time since 2000. The Bulldogs have won the last four meetings with the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta. Meanwhile, Tech (10-1) has already clinched a berth in the ACC championship game Dec. 5.
"Georgia Tech has had a magnificent season and they present challenges for any team," said Richt. "This is a rivalry game on national television and I'm sure emotions will be high on both teams. We'll get Georgia Tech at its best on Saturday and I'm looking forward to our team being at its best."
Georgia players who live close by were given the opportunity to be with family for the Thanksgiving afternoon meal and many will bring along teammates as guests for the day.
"I want to wish everyone in the Bulldog Nation a very, very happy Thanksgiving," said Richt. "It is a day to be thankful for the many blessings we enjoy every day."
Georgia will conclude preparations Friday morning before departing for Atlanta in early afternoon. Players and coaches from the team will visit the Shepherd Center and Children's Hospital of Atlanta Friday afternoon on the way to the team hotel (details below).
Kickoff is set for 8:12 p.m. EST and will be televised nationally by ABC/ESPN2.
