Five-star WR ready to explore Athens

One of the top wide receivers in the country will be in Athens this weekend. No, it is not Da'Rick Rogers because he will be playing for a state championship, but it is another five-star wideout. Do the Dawgs have a chance? Find out here.

"I have an official visit set up with Georgia and I will be there this weekend," said Adrian Coxson. "Georgia is good team in the SEC that is looking for playmakers and I want to take a look at them. I think I could play there early, so I do not want to bypass the opportunity to look at them."

Tony Ball is the wide receivers coach in Athens and he has been in contact with Coxson since the spring.

"Coach Ball is the coach that offered me and I think he is a very good guy. He is not much of a football guy over the phone – we talk more about family, the lifestyle he likes to live, and things like that. I am sure we will talk more about football when I visit them though."

The 6-foot-1, 194 pound receiver will not be alone on this trip. The Penn State commitment will be accompanied by his mother and she will help him make the final decision.

"My mother especially is a big part of my decision. She wasn't able to make it down to Florida (two weeks ago) with me, but she will be with me at Georgia. I planned the trip to Florida so late that she couldn't get a flight, but we set this one up in time where she could come."

"If coaches want me, then they have win my parents over, especially my mother. Her opinion is very important to me and we will sit down and talk about things when all of my visits are done."

The Gators and the Bulldogs are just two of the many schools that are still in pursuit of the Baltimore native. The top prospect in mid-atlantic region committed to Penn State back in April, but is still keeping somewhat of an open mind.

"I don't really want to comment too much on the exact status of my commitment, but I still do consider myself a Penn State commitment," said the number eight receiver in the country. "I just want to make sure of my decision, explore my options, and see what else is out there. I do not want to look back and regret anything, so I need to take visits and make sure everything is right for me."

His first official visit was to Florida, he visits UGA this weekend and he will take a visit to Penn State for sure. So who will get visits four and five from Coxson?

"I am not sure yet. West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Michigan, and Oklahoma are really the other schools I am looking at for visits."

The Nittany Lions still have a grasp on Coxson right now, but he admitted that things could still change. He is not taking these visits for nothing he said. Both he and his family will take a look at each school he takes a trip to.
