Dawgs Hold Final Practice of 2009

SHREVEPORT, LA - Georgia held its final practice of the season with a two-hour workout Saturday in preparation for the Independence Bowl against Texas A&M.

The Bulldogs (7-5) will hold a brief walkthrough on Sunday before Monday's game.

It was the second practice at Independence Stadium for the Bulldogs, who focused on special teams for part of Saturday's workout.

"Most of it is in, but there is a little kicking that we want to cover," head coach Mark Richt said prior to practice. "Yesterday's practice was good, not great. Hopefully we will pick up the pace. I'm sure they'll pick it up."

Richt was also asked about facing Texas A&M's All-America linebacker Von Miller, who leads the country in sacks.

"He's a problem," Richt said. "He's a guy who has definitely proven to be a sack machine. If we can keep third down yardage a little more manageable I think it will help us."

Earlier in the day, the Bulldogs attended the Minuteman Coaches' Luncheon at the Shreveport Convention Center. On the schedule for Sunday is an FCA Breakfast at the Bossier Civic Center followed by a press conference for both teams at Independence Stadium.
