Strengths: Brown is an athletic passer who has the ability to beat the opposition with his arm and legs. He shows poise in the pocket and sets up nicely. He has a strong arm and can make all the throws; he drives the ball down field on time. He possesses good footwork in the pocket and is able to elude the rush. He’s dangerous out of the pocket and can hurt defenses in many ways. He’s an outstanding athlete who has promise.

Weaknesses: He primarily worked out of the shotgun and will have to adjust to taking snaps under center. He has to improve his accuracy and complete a higher percentage of his intermediate passes. He lacks touch and feel, and doesn’t lead receivers consistently. He reads defenses well, but doesn’t always make the best decisions.

Steuber Says: After backing up Pat White for the last three years, Brown had his chance to take over the Mountaineers’ offense this season. He’s still a project and has a long way to go until he can be a starter at the next level, but completing 63.2-percent of his passes for 2,144 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions is something to build on.
