Evans Arrested; Meets with Press Tonight

ATHENS – Damon Evans, Georgia's Athletics Director, was arrested late Wednesday night; as was his passenger.

He will meet with the press tonight, according to the University.

Courtney Fuhrmann, who went to Georgia Southern and is 28, has been identified as the person arrested with Evans in Atlanta according to WSB TV. Dawg Post has made repeated requests to the Georgia State Patrol with regard to obtaining the report.

However, the GSP said: "The report is not yet complete, so it cannot be released at this time. Tomorrow is the State holiday for the 4th of July."

Evans, who has been the Athletics Director at Georgia since the summer of 2004, was charged with DUI. He failed a field sobriety test after being stopped at the corner of Roswell Road and Chastian Drive.

The City of Atlanta Department of Corrections could not confirm that Evans had been arrested until later in the day on Thursday... saying that their computers were down.
