Matt Santangelo, Dan Dickau, Blake Stepp, Derek Raivio, and of course John Stockton... Keeping GU as "Guard University" takes a keen eye by Mark Few and Staff, and it's often rare to find that perfect guard that shows he can carry on the tradition at Gonzaga.

Enter 6'5" 200 pound Combo Guard Matt Bouldin, Colorado's POY as a junior,'s 53rd ranked player nationally, and considered by's west coast analyst to be the #1 guard in the entire west.

Matt is a big, strong, physical floor general who can be a sniper from outside or penetrate and dish or create. He is also an outstanding passing guard with excellent vision, perhaps best in the west, and has a great feel for the game. It was reported during his official visit to Spokane that he played solid defense as well in pick up games.

In short, Bouldin is exactly what Zag fans are used to seeing in their point guards: savvy, smart, versatile.

Matt turned down Cal, Notre Dame, UConn, BC, North Carolina State and several others. GU Nation welcomes Matt and his family to the Gonzaga Community.
