Brock Osweiler: Fierce PF

Shooting over 65% from the field, Brock Osweiler could be Montana's best player, and he's only a frosh. In the mold of so many past Zag big men, he has rocketed to the top of Gonzaga's 2009 wish list.

Think former Gonzaga great Casey Calvary's tenacious athleticism in the post, combined with Casey's mental toughness and fierce competitiveness, and you have a good idea of who Brock Osweiler is: a 6'8" 215 lbs freshman PF at Flathead High School in Kalispell, MT. A mature, well-built member of the 2009 class, Brock already leads his team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. He will very likely shatter Flathead's all-time scoring record by his junior year. Over 17 ppg, 10 rpg, 5 bpg during his first year of varsity hoops in Montana's largest high school division speaks volumes about Osweiler's future potential at the next level.

The precocious and prolific Kalispell native appears to have the skills and game that so many Zag fans have grown to love in Casey Calvary, Cory Violette, Ronny Turiaf and J.P. Batista. Brock has a real chance to be the finest basketball player to ever come out of the Big Sky State. And it has not gone unnoticed by the GU coaching staff. Osweiler has indicated that he'll spend a good portion of his summer in Spokane, working on his game at camps, on his own and running with the Zags in pick up games.

Brock will play his summer AAU ball with Eastern Washington Elite.

He has a chance… A real chance...
