Troy Gunslinger Getting Noticed

There is some irony that a player named Branko (pronounced "Bronco") Hamilton is quarterbacking the Troy Colts, but his performance over his three years as starter has been no laughing matter. Hamilton is one of the state's more underrated passers and he updated GVReport on his recruitment.

After mostly being an I-Form team the past few years, the Troy Colts went to a spread offense this season and no one has enjoyed that change more than quarterback Branko Hamilton. The 6'0, 180-lb senior has passed for 403 yards and five touchdowns so far this season.

"The season is going real good so far," Hamilton said, "we're 4-1 right now."

Those four wins already match the Colts' win total from last season. In that season, Hamilton, a three year starter, passed for over 1500 yards and nine touchdowns. He also added 416 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Take those stats, his athletic ability and a strong arm and you have a prospect that is on the radar of several local schools.

"I am getting contact from Northwood, Northern Michigan, Saginaw Valley, Ferris State, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan," he reported.

In addition to those schools, Hamilton has also been in close contact with Grand Valley. He was a camper in Allendale this summer and is hoping to get back to campus sometime in the near future.

"I am very interested in Grand Valley. I plan on coming up to see a game sometime this season. Also I plan on sending one of my game films to them to view."

GVReport will have more on Hamilton in the near future, including video highlights of him in action. Also, stay tuned for more recruiting information as the high school season heats up!
