Another Pilot Back Heads to GVSU

Freshman phenom Jimmy Berezik took the GLIAC by storm this year, providing the Lakers with a burst of speed from the backfield. The team has gone back to the well and secured a commitment from another outstanding De La Salle back who just gave his verbal agreement to play in Allendale.

Grand Valley State has committment #9, as Warren De La Salle running back Chad O'Shell has committed to the Lakers becoming the latest to join the 2008 class.

The 5'10, 192-lb O'Shell was the Pilots' change of pace back as a junior behind current Laker Jimmy Berezik.

He inherited the starting role this past season and was on record breaking pace: 989 yards and 19 touchdowns through the first half of the season before tearing his ACL in the seventh game.

Despite the injury, he was still named 1st team All-East Offense by the Detroit Free Press. His injury was noted as one of the big reason the Pilots struggled in the 2nd half of the season.

We will have more on this commitment in the nearfuture including an interview and video highlights.

Stay tuned to GVReport for up to the minute Laker recruiting news and breaking committments!
