Bay City Central RB Luther Ware is Grand Valley State commit #11. The 5'10, 194-lber is the ninth instate commitment the Lakers have picked up this season.
"I just went up there and really liked everything," Ware said, "and they have a really good class coming in, the offensive line looks really good."
Last season as a senior, Ware rushed for 1009 yards and 16 touchdowns even with two other talented backs (including MSU commit Trenton Robinson) sharing carries.
He was being recruited by Michigan State, Central Michigan and other MAC schools.
"I'm going to be playing running back and slot," he reported, "I'll probably be playing some special teams too. I haven't really been used as a receiver much. I ran some screens and things like that, but never really slot."
While it may be an adjustment, Ware has the speed and athletic ability to make the transition. Although it was a long recruiting process for him, he really feels as though he found the right place for him.
"They have really good crowds and the team is really good, the have a winning team and a winning history."
