Finnerty Works Out For Rampage

After a stint overseas, Cullen Finnerty is back in West Michigan and with any luck, he'll stay here and soon be slinging the football around again as he tried out for the Grand Rapids Rampage.

Cullen Finnerty seems to have a knack for winning championships. He lead the Grand Valley State team to national titles in the three of his four seasons in Allendale.

Recently, he continnued his winning ways overseas in Austria, where he lead the Cineplexx Blue Devils to the Bodensee Cup. Now, he has returned to Grand Rapids, in hopes of leading the Rampage to an AFL title one day.

"I just finished my workout with them about 20 minutes ago," he reported, "they had me do everything, I ran a forty for the first time since pro day."

No rust there though, as Finnerty ran a 4.62, the exact time he ran a year and a half ago at that pro day. In addition to running that time, he also did well in passing drills and although he hasn't received any word yet, he is confident in his performance.

"They said they would let me know within the next couple weeks. They said the starter is coming back and then they're going to bring in one or two more guys."

GVReport will have more on Finnerty in the near future.
