Schools Showing Carlson Cornerback Love

Gibraltar Carlson (Mich.) had a great season this year as the team made it to the playoff games before losing to Inkster. One of the key players in their run was cornerback/athlete Carlos Love. Love has been hearing from several schools and now that the season is over, is ready to take some visits.

After a strong senior season, Gibraltar Carlson's Carlos Love is simply waiting for that first school to extend an offer. Love, a 5'9, 175-lb cornerback and multi-purpose player on offense is still being recruited by a handful of schools.

"I'm hearing from Grand Valley State, Michigan State, Bowling Green, I talked to them the other day and Wayne State and some other D2 schools."

The Falcons of Bowling Green have had some success going north and getting recruits from Michigan this year and Love has been in contact with the school.

"They are looking for a defensive back right now, so they want me to probably come there but they haven't offered or anything yet. Michigan State is the same thing, but no offer; I'm going for a visit next month."

Of all the schools still on his list, Love says Grand Valley is recruiting him the hardest. He has seen the Lakers play this year, although it was an away game.

"I saw them play Wayne State talked to [Detroit area recruiter] Eddie Brown. He said I could probably see time on either side of ball, but they have to get done with playoffs and then we'll talk about the offer. I'm probably going to go up there in December. A lot of my visits will be in December, but it's hard because I have basketball going on."

For his senior year, Love finished with 25 receptions for a 12 yard per catch average and four receiving touchdowns to go along with 46 carries and 400 yards on the ground. On defense, he had three interceptions, a sack and 63 tackles.
