It's Official! The Recruiting Class of 2009

The Grand Valley State University football recruiting class of 2009 has been finalized and introduced by head coach Chuck Martin. Here we will break down the newest Lakers as we tell you where they landed on Scout.com's latest state of Michigan rankings, and what you can expect from this talented group of 36 high-quality players.

The Grand Valley State University football coaches again raked in the talent to secure national prominence for the Lakers in the near-future.

A larger-than-usual class of 36 was introduced today as the 2009 football recruiting class, including a couple highly-touted prospects from the state of Michigan, and some equally talented players from surrounding states.

Contrary to the last couple seasons, this year's recruiting class is nearly all home-grown, with 32 of the 36 signees coming from within the state, with three more from Illinois and one from Indiana. This is different from the last couple seasons when GVSU was reaching out to California and even Florida for either interested high schoolers or transfers.

This is also the first year in a while where there are no transfers presented with this year's recruiting class, although former Michigan State defensive tackle Ryan Wheat has been enrolled at GVSU and will be on the field in the fall.

Here are the 36 players that will call Allendale, Michigan home come August:
