Lakers Add Two MAC Transfers

Going into next year, running back and quarterback were two positions with questions for Grand Valley State. They recently strengthened those positions by adding two FBS transfers.

GVReport has learned that Grand Valley State will be receiving two new transfers, Norman Shuford, previously at Akron and Kyle McMahon from Eastern Michigan.

McMahon, a quarterback who prepped at Pontiac Notre Dame, will have one year to play and is expected to be in the mix for the starting job. He has been a part time starter for the Eagles and appeared in six games last season.

In his three year career at EMU, he has gone 151 for 278, 1752 yards, nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He has rushed for 241 yards and two touchdowns in that time.

Shuford prepped at Farmington Hills Harrison and was tried at both cornerback and running back at Akron, redshirting his first year and playing sparingly a year ago. It is likely that he will move back to his high school position of running back at GVSU.

GVReport will have more on these two players as well as other transfers and recruits over the coming weeks.
