Vaenuku Picks Utah on TV

Gaius Vaenuku made his commitment to Utah on Sunday night becoming the Utes 29th commitment for their 2013 class.

With a lift of a Utah crown and while holding a His little sister Charity, who was decked in a Utah onesy, Euless (Texas) Trinity High defensive lineman Gaius Vaenuku joined the Utes' 2013 class on Sunday night when he made his selection on FOX 4's Sports Sunday.

Vaenuku became the Utes' 29th commitment for their 2013 class.

Vaenuku, who reportedly held over 40 offers from programs across the nation, chose Utah over a final list of TCU, Missouri, Texas Tech and BYU.

"It is a great program, great family and I have friends going there also," Vaenuku explained. "We can bring (Euless) Trinity up to Utah."

Currently ranked as the No. 106 defensive end prospect in the country, Vaenuku will likley make the move to defensive tackle with his 6-foot-5, 280-pound frame.

Vaenuku told FOX 4 News that he decided on Utah for a number of reasons. But most importantly it was his heart that told him the right spot.

Ironically, that calling may have come while he was visiting his number two school -- TCU, when Freshman OL Halapoulivaati Vaitai advised him to "listen to his heart".
