Ewaliko Solid to Warriors

Wailuku (HI) Baldwin quarterback Keenan Ewaliko updates on his commitment to Hawaii...

For Wailuku (HI) Baldwin quarterback Keenan Ewaliko, an offer for Hawaii was like a dream come true.

Therefore, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound commit wasted no time committing to the Warriors program before his senior season and has remained solid to the program throughout the past few months.

"I was always wanted to play for them. I live in Maui, so playing for the Warriors, you get to stay home and represent your community and family," he said.

The quarterback, who recently played in the Polynesian All-American Classic, said the offer came as a welcome surprise.

"College is expensive and to get a full ride, it takes the burden off of your family's shoulders," he said.

Ewaliko, who took his official visit to campus this past weekend, has mainly been recruited by Warriors' head coach Norm Chow.

"My relationship with him is pretty good. Coach Chow is the one who wants me. We have a good personal relationship. He came to my house for an in-home, met my family, and got everything squared away," he said.

The athlete hasn't taken any other trips and looks forward to contributing to Hawaii's team in a few months.

"My agility, speed, field vision, and ability to avoid tackles are some of my greatest strengths on the field. I think I improved with my throwing and my speed, just making better decisions with the ball and commanding a team," he said.
