Volleyball: Willoughby again honored by the WAC

Kim Willoughby is named the WAC Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

DENVER – Hawai‘i's Kim Willoughby has been named the Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 8. The two-time WAC Player of the Year has earned player of the week honors eight times during her career, including the first week of this season.

Willoughby led the Wahine to victories over Wichita State, Baylor and Pacific as Hawaii won the Aston Imua Challenge. Willoughby was named the Most Outstanding Player for the second-straight tournament.

For the second-straight week, the "Bayou Basher" broke Hawai‘i records. Against Baylor, Willoughby tied the school record for single-match aces with six. She broke the school record for career aces (140), and she surpassed the 2,000 career kill mark.
