Baseball: Texas thumps Bows, 10-1

The fifth ranked Longhorns complete the series sweep with a 10-1 rout of Hawaii.

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (0-3) fell to the fifth-ranked Texas Longhorns (3-0) 10-1 in front of a crowd of 2,044 at the Les Murakami Stadium Sunday. Keahi Rawlins got the loss while Kyle McCulloch picked up the win for the Longhorns.

Darrell Fisherbaugh pitched well in relief, giving up just one hit and no earned runs in 2.0 innings of work. Brian Finegan, Robbie Wilder, Nathan Thurber and Pakilika Lum all had one hit apiece for UH.

Texas scored early and often, putting up five runs in the first three innings, before adding one more in the fifth, two in the seventh and two in the ninth. The 'Bows got on the board in the bottom of the ninth as Lum scored on a wild pitch.

Hawai`i will next host the Cal State Northride Matadors for a three-game series starting at 6:35 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6.
