Volleyball: Arnott named Player of the Week

DENVER - Sophomore Alicia Arnott has been named the Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 18. This is the first WAC Player of the Week honor for the left-side hitter.

The Hilo, Hawai`i, native had a huge match at SMU on Oct. 16, putting up a career-high 30 kills and 19 digs while hitting .463. It was the first 30-kill match by a UH player this season. She also became the first Rainbow Wahine player to hit over .450 with 30-plus kills since three-time All-American Teee Williams-Sanders had 44 kills and a .493 hitting percentage at UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 8, 1989.

Arnott averaged 6.14 kills per game and 3.71 digs per game in two road conference matches last week.
