Wahine Basketball Start Season in Classic

Release Date: 11/22/04 Hawai`i opens the 2004-05 campaign with the 26th Annual Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic, November 26-28 at the Stan Sheriff Center (10,300).

Hawai`i returns 12 letterwinners from last year with the opener marking the debut of new head coach Jim Bolla.

This year's field includes California, No. 3 Georgia, Idaho, No. 14 Michigan State, TCU, Utah and UH's first-round opponent, Santa Clara. The Rainbow Wahine and Broncos (0-1) square off at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 26.

Tickets: $8 (adults); $7 (senior citizens); children (ages 4-18) and UH students (w/ valid ID) FREE. Parking $3.

Promotions: Hawaiian Airlines will be giving away numerous door and halftime prizes, including three interisland trips.

Television: KFVE-TV will carry the UH-Santa Clara game live with Jim Leahey (play-by-play) and Lori Santi (color).

Radio: KKEA Radio will carry all three UH Classic games live with Kevin Hashiro on the call.
