Wahine Water Polo Gaining National Respect

Rainbow Wahine Ranked No. 7 HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i women's water polo team is ranked No. 7 in the first poll of the season released Jan. 26, 2005, by the Collegiate Water Polo Association.

The Rainbow Wahine completed the 2004 season with an overall record of 13-15 while posting a 4-7 mark and tied for seventh place in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, UH ended the season ranked No. 9 in the final poll. Head coach Michel Roy's club is one week away from officially beginning their 2005 campaign. Roy is in his third season overseeing the Rainbow Wahine. The team is on the road the entire month of February. UH's first match is Thursday, Feb. 10, at San Jose State University. UH then travels across town to take on Stanford University the following day before opening up play in the Stanford Tournament Feb. 12 and 13.
