It's Official.......Whieldon is back!!!

Reserve quarterback Jason Whieldon returned to practice Tuesday morning.

Jason Whieldon is back. After leaving the team last week to return home and take care of some personal issues, the reserve quarterback returned to practice Tuesday.

"The guys have been very supportive and I assured them that the reason why I left had nothing to do with football ad nothing to do with them," said Whieldon after practice. "They were just issues that I had to deal with and I had to take care of and they understood that."

However, the junior college transfer will have to work his way back up the depth chart after being Timmy Chang's backup for the first two games. Shawn Withy-Allen, who saw considerable action in last Saturday's win at UTEP, is listed behind Chang on the depth chart.

In two games, Whieldon completed 7 of 13 passes for 86 yards and three touchdowns.

Hawaii plays host to SMU this Saturday evening at Aloha Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. Hawaii is 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the WAC, while the Mustangs are 0-4 and playing their first conference game of the season.
