HONOLULU--The Crimson Tide will touch Hawaiian waters twice in the next 13 months.
University of Hawaii football coach June Jones announced the news Monday morning during his weekly press conference at StanSheriffCenter. Alabama, which will travel to Hawaii later this season, has agreed to return for a Nov. 29, 2003 date with the Warriors.
"They'll not only bring in fans, but they'll buy a lot of hotel rooms," Jones said.
Jones was concise, if not terse, about the Warriors' 58-31 loss at BoiseState over the weekend.
"We got our asses beat," he said.
On the injury front, wide receiver Nate Ilaoa is doubtful for Saturday's game against another WAC title contender, Nevada. Ilaoa, who sustained a shoulder injury, will undergo an MRI today.
Running back Thero Mitchell, who is questionable for the game, will also undergo an MRI.
