Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors for the Wahine.
Freshmen Mahie Atay and Natasha Kai helped lead UH to shutout wins over Rice and Tulsa over the weekend and were named WAC Defensive and Offensive Player's of the Week, respectively, for their efforts.
Atay, a 5-foot-6 goalkeeper from Kahului, Maui, had seven saves against the Golden Hurricane and stopped five attempts by the Owls. On the season Atay has 52 saves with a 1.16 goals against average.
Kai, a striker from Kahuku, had a week she soon won't forget. Kai posted only the second hat trick in school history, scoring three goals against Tulsa as Hawaii won 6-0. In Sunday's win over Rice, Kai helped the UH offense fire off 21 shots in the 1-0 win. It's the second player of the week honor for Kai this season.
