Willoughby named National Player of the Week

AVCA selects Willoughby as it's National Player of the Week to go along with WAC P.O.W. honors.

Outside hitter Kim Willoughby has been named the AVCA/ Sports Import National Player of the Week and the WAC Player of the Week after leading the second ranked Wahine to four wins last week.

Despite missing the San Jose State match with the flu, Willoughby had at least 20 kills in the three matches she played in.

Willoughby had 23 kills in both wins over Notre Dame and 24 kills in the win against Fresno State. For the week, Willoughby hit .329 with 70 kills and 35 digs.

It is the second time this season that Willoughby has received WAC Player of the Week honors and the sixth time of her career.
