GAME NOTES

 

HAWAII- Ranked second in the country....First in the latest West Region rankings....19-0 overall record and 7-0 in the WAC....Only the second road trip of the season....Have won a school record 42 straight games....Kim Willoughby is this weeks National Player of the Week and the WAC Player of the Week....Have lost only two games all season....Hold a 12-1 advantage over Nevada and leads the Boise State series 2-0....Have won 65 overall conference matches....Been ranked in the AVCA/USA Today Top 25 for 141 straight weeks....Ranked nationally in several statistical categories....First in hitting percentage(.340)....First in kills per game(18.34)....First in assist per game(16.97)....Eighth in digs per game(18.81)....Play Nevada and Boise State the following week in Honolulu....Dave Shoji is 11 wins away from 800 for his career.

 

 

NEVADA- 18-3 Overall and 7-1 in the WAC....Best start in school history....Are 10-0 at home this season and have won 30 of 32 games at the Virginia Street Gym....Setter Jill Couwenhoven leads conference in assist per game(13.61)....Middle blocker Michelle More is hitting a conference leading .399 and a team best 5.61 kills per game....Have beaten BYU and Colorado State when they were ranked earlier this season....Sixth year head coach Devin Scruggs is one win shy of 100 for her career at Nevada....Advanced to the NCAA tournament last year.

 

 

 

BOISE STATE- 1-19 overall and 0-8 in the WAC....Only win came against Eastern Kentucky....Have won only seven games all season....Scott Sandel is in his first season as head coach....First meeting with UH came last season....Megan Tranter averages 3.34 kills per game....Setter Mindy Bennett is averaging 9.75 assist per game....final home match of the season for the Broncos.
