Volleyball: Coaches Poll Keeps Wahine Second

Despite a number six seed for the NCAA Tournament, Hawaii remains second in the latest AVCA/USA Today Coaches Poll.

A day after being insulted by the NCAA selection committee with a number six seed, the University of Hawaii Wahine volleyball team remained second in the latest USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 25.

 

USC, the number one seed, remained atop the poll with 59 of the 65 first place votes. Hawaii, Stanford and Nebraska each received the remaining two votes.

 

Stanford, the number two seed, is third. Nebraska, the number three seed, is fourth and Northern Iowa, the number four seed, checks in at sixth according to the coaches. Eastern Washington, who didn't even get an invite to the tourney despite their 29-2 record is ranked 18th.

 

Hawaii will host the first two rounds beginning on Thursday with a match against Western Kentucky. In the nights other match up, its Washington taking on Colorado State.
