Mens Volleyball: Number One!!

The first mens volleyball poll has the Men of War at the top.

The first men's volleyball poll of the season was released on Monday and the University of Hawaii Warriors find themselves exactly where they left off last season, at the top.

 

The defending national champs received 14 of the 16 first place votes to out distance second ranked UC-Irvine. Hawaii opened the season last week with two wins over 11th ranked Lewis.

 

This marks the first time in school history that Hawaii is ranked number one in the first poll that is released.

 

The Men of War will have their hands full this week as the host the Outrigger Invitational January 16 - January 18. Hawaii will challenge fourth ranked Penn State, seventh ranked Ball State and Shanghai Oriental of China.
