Softball: Dahlberg named WAC Player of the Week

The Rainbow Wahine catcher helped Hawaii to capture the Malihini Tournament championship.

DENVER - Hawai‘i's Denise Dahlberg has been named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the week on Monday. This is the first honor for Dahlberg this season.

Dahlberg started all five games behind the plate and played in every inning for the Rainbow Wahine. She was named to the all-tournament team of the Malhini Tournament at catcher. She ended the week with a .467 batting average (7-for-15) with two doubles, home run, and four RBI. The catcher was 1-2 in steals and was perfect in the field in 26 total chances (2 assists). Hawai‘i has now won eight of its last nine games and stands in first in the WAC.
