The Houston Cougars took Mother Nature's strongest punch and waited a bit before finishing off the visiting Lamar Cardinals. Head coach Tom Herman and staff knew coming in that this game was one that would be taken seriously but also used to develop some depth heading further into the season.
The Cougars got off to a quick start and were leading before an hours long weather delay forced by lightning in the area, sent the teams to the locker room. Once they returned to the field the Cougars continued their dominance over the Cardinals.
