Freshman receiver D'Eriq King spoke to the media for the first time following the Cougars' first practice since their 40-16 road win over Cincinnati. King signed as a quarterback out of local power Manvel High School last February and was participating in camp as a quarterback as expected when a string of key injuries at the H receiver position forced an opportunity for King to step in and fill that void for the 2016 season and then return to quarterback in the spring. King talked about meeting that need as a team player, getting to play with Greg Ward immediately and much more in his first media session.
