Thoughts From The Morning After: SMU

The Houston Cougars suffered another upset loss on the road Saturday night to in-state rival SMU. Publisher Robert Sellers shares his thoughts on the Cougars loss and their recent play.

The Houston Cougars have had a rough few weeks after climbing as high as number six in the country before suffering tough losses to both Navy and SMU and narrowly escaping Tulsa at home. Head coach Tom Herman and his staff are one of, if not the, last teams to get to their bye week in two weeks and the extended period with no rest has left the battered and run down.

On Saturday the Cougars struggles to find consistency and weren't able to protect the football early on. Ultimately they dug too much of a hole for themselves to climb out of.

This morning I share my thoughts on where the program is and what contributed to the loss to SMU Saturday night.
