Recruiting: Cody Lubojasky Talks Coogs

The University of Houston landed a verbal commitment from Fort Bend Kempner LB <b>Cody Lubojasky</b>. And we wanted to bring you some more background on the 2/3-star prospect...

Lubojasky on his commitment to the Coogs: "Coach Briles offered me a scholarhsip, offered it to me there (UH). And, I told him, 'Okay.' I planned on doing it that week (12/14) anyway. That's where I wanted to go.'"

Lubojasky knows if he comes in ready to compete, he could see action as a true freshman...

"I plan on playing early," said the kid claiming a 300 bench, 400 squat and 305 power clean. "I would like to play as a freshman. They (Cougar D) like to blitz a lot. They like bringing the linebackers. I like that."

The first-team 2003 All-Greater Houston selection was productive his final season as a prep.

"I had 130-somethin' tackles, 12-15 TFLs, 3 PBUs, 4 FFs and 2-3 FRs," said Lubojasky who clocks about a 4.6 forty.

Note: The 6-2, 215-pounder said he thinkks UH wants to ink a total of four linebackers in this year's class. He said he knew of one other: "(Port Arthur Memorial's) Rodney Rideau."

Lubojasky is fully qualified and his off-season goals are to get "stronger, bigger and faster".
