Setting a 2008 Division I scoring record, Robert 'Fluff' McKiver joined the elite ranks of high scoring NCAA players that include Elvin Hayes, Larry Bird and Bob Florence. McKiver pulled out all the stops against Southern Mississippi's Golden Eagles with a 52 game point high, surpassing fellow Cougar Otis Birdsong's 1977 Hofheinz Pavilion scoring record of 43 points. McKiver's 52 point game also sets a 2008 record for the C-USA Conference and represents the most points scored by any NCAA Division I player so far this season.
