Vandals beat Fresno, No.3 in WAC

LED BY SOPHOMORE CENTER KYLE BARONE (19 points) the Vandals overcame a sluggish start and battled back for the 69-66 win. Idaho (17-12, 9-7 WAC) currently sits in 3rd place in the WAC standings with just one game remaining, Saturday's home finale against Seattle U (7:05pm PST tipoff, Cowan Spectrum) and the final home game for four Vandal seniors - Ledbetter, Henderson, Wiley and Blackstock.

In addition to Kyle Barone's 19 point effort Thursday night against Fresno State in the Cowan Spectrum, senior Shawn Henderson added 12 more points to lead the Vandals to a crucial victory that ensure they will finish no worse than tied for No.3 in the final WAC standings (the second time in three seasons under Verlin that the Vandals have finished as high in conference play), and no worse than a fourth seed with a first-round bye heading into the WAC tourney.

Depending how Saturday's other WAC games proceed (Idaho is in non-conference action against Seattle U Saturday night), the Vandals could claim a third seed.
