Gem State Invades Emerald City!

The Vandals are taking on Washington State at Seahawks Stadium in Seattle on August 30th in the first game of the season for both teams. We also now have confirmation of a pre-game rally Friday night before the game. Tickets to the Battle are going fast! So get your tickets today and make plans to join the Vandal faithful in Bellevue Friday night!

August 30th is fast approaching, and we've learned ticket sales for the Battle of the Palouse, Seattle Style, have picked up from an already solid summer. This holiday weekend clash at Seahawks Stadium, in a 100+ year old rivalry between border neighbors, is shaping up to be a memorable event as the teams meet for the first time in Seattle, and in a venue that is looking like it may double the 32,000 fans that normally attend this tilt on the Palouse. We strongly recommend getting tickets today (88-88-UIDAHO) if you haven't already, and join all of us in cheering this year's Vandal team on to victory!

BUT WAIT! THERES MORE...We also want to extend an invitation to ALL Vandal fans who will be in Seattle for the Battle. The newly forming Seattle Chapter of the Vandal Scholarship Fund, in cooperation with the Idaho Alumni Association, the National Board of VSF, and the Idaho Athletic Department, will be hosting a rally at the Bellevue Coast Hotel in downtown Bellevue FRIDAY NIGHT (August 29th), the night before the game. Appetizers and no-host bar will be provided, and the UI Bookstore will be on-hand selling gear for the big game the next day.

This event is coming together quickly, and promises to be a great chance to mingle with University of Idaho representatives and Vandal fans before the game. Among the special guests who will be joining us are Gary Michael (interim President of the University of Idaho), Mike Bohn (Athletics Director), Head Football Coach Tom Cable (if only briefly...for obvious reasons!), Tom Morris (Assistant Athletic Director) and long-time Voice of the Vandals Bob Curtis. All UI alumni, friends of the University and parents of current student athletes are invited to have the rare opportunity to talk with distinguished guests and alumni, all in one setting. So take this opportunity to rub shoulders with former players, reconnect with old friends, and get ready for a truely unique and exciting weekend of Vandal sports!
