Swimming & Diving takes 2nd in WAC

THE IDAHO SWIMMING AND DIVING TEAM completed a stellar 2013-14 season by finishing 2nd at the Western Athletic Conference Championships. Senior MAIRIN JAMESON start the competition by winning the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, as the Vandals scored in every event throughout the week-long competition for the first time in school history, while the divers led Idaho by winning every event.

The University of Idaho Swim and Dive team had an amazing day in the pool during the Western Athletic Conference Championships. The team won three events today and broke four school records.

In the 100 free, the Vandals had three swimmers in the finals with Rachel Millet winning the event with a time of 50.08, a new school record. Senior Megan Venlos placed 5th with a time of 51.23 and junior Kirah Monks placed 7th with a time of 52.09.

Sophomore Jamie Sterbis won the 200 fly today with a time of 1:56.77, a new school record.

Senior diver Paige Hunt finished off her WAC career on a high note by winning the platform competition with a score of 265.55, a new school record. Senior Mairin Jameson also finished on a high note by placing 4th in the event with a score of 214.95. The Vandals won all of the diving events this week, Jameson won the 1-meter and 3-meter while Hunt won the platform.
