2004 Vandal Football Recruiting Class Announced

On a day when most Vandal fans were expecting Idaho to sign 25 recruits, new Head Coach Nick Holt shocked us with 30 signees, including DB/RB Jevon Butler of Archbishop Murphy High School (Everett, WA). The class is strong, and on "national" signing day Idaho received signed commitments from across the nation, and even went international.

From all of us at, welcome to The University of Idaho to all 30 signees. And to the staff that recruited them, excellent job!

Well, this is the day we've all been anticipating, and nobody associated with the Vandal football program disappointed us. The class is as deep, and as strong, as we've seen in a long time. At 30 strong, its also a much younger class than Idaho has signed in years, with just 2 out of the class coming to Idaho from the Junior College ranks.

Over the past several weeks, we've been running spotlight articles on the prospects who signed early. Over the course of the next couple days, we'll be completing our introduction of the players who have committed to Idaho. For a look at the first 18 players to commit to Idaho, click the link below:

Reports on the Early Vandal Recruits

From the staff at, and in fact from the entire Vandal community on our site, we want to welcome the 30 student-athletes who chose to play football at the University of Idaho. We look forward to covering your development in Moscow.

And to Coach Holt and the entire staff responsible for pulling this class together in a short-period of time, congratulations on a job well done. In addition to recruiting, they met with Vandal alums, boosters and fans throughout Idaho and Washington, and their effort to reconnect with the alumni while getting settled in Moscow AND recruiting at the same time did not go unnoticed, or unappreciated.

Below is a list of the complete class, starting with a link to the Official Idaho Athletics Site. In general, the class is big, and it is fast.
