The UI Men's Hockey team did it again, they beat WSU!!!WSU fell to the Vandals after one of the most exciting hockey games played in Moscow so far.

The 14-6-2 Vandals jumped to an early lead with a unassisted goal by Kurt Newbry (Idaho Falls).
The Cougars struck back with 3 goals over a six minute span. Josh Bain open the scoring run for WSU with an assist from Kurt Penberthy; Ryan
Lundgran and Kurt Penberthy then each had unassisted goals.
The Vandals came back in the second period to tie the game with a couple of goals in a 1 minute span. Trevor Mahlum (Idaho Falls) scored with an assist from Brent Brown (Prince George BC) and then Kurt Newbry scored his second with an assist from Tyler Thomas (Boise).
WSU responded with a goal score on a great shot from the high slot by Mark Seiler (Josh Bain assist). Idaho was able to get one more past WSU netminder Stu Palmer in the second period with a nice shot by Brent Brown with an assist from
WSU finished off the second with a unassisted goal by Chris Detzel.
At the three minute mark of the third period WSU appeared to put the game out of reach with a goal from Mark Seiler assisted by Jerno Purtsi. Vandal goalie, Mikey Robertson (IF) then got hot and shut the Cougar offense completely off for the
remainder of the game.
The Vandal scoring fest began with a goal by Robert McQueen (Sun Valley) with an assist by Tyler Thomas (Boise). The crowd responded to the Vandal comeback feeding the team with a new energy, the tying goal was scored at 12 minute mark by Patrick Haglund (unassisted). The tie game brought a newfound tension to the rink, the Vandal faithful roared on the support which was awarded with the game winner at 16:59 with a powerful shot by Brent Brown.
The Cougars tried to tie it up in the closing minute with help from an extra attacker who replaced the goalie. Some brilliant work by the Vandal defense and the goalie
prevented a couple of shots from going in by only mere inches.
