In 2 years at Lee Junior College (Texas), Delvin Spruel consistently ended games as the team's scoring leader. In addition, for 2 consecutive seasons he led the team in free-throw percentage (75.4% or higher). As a sophomore he averaged 18 points per game, led the team with a 48.5% field goal percentage, and led the team with a 43.5% average from behind the 3-point arc. The numbers are impressive, and indicative of why the staff was excited to get this young man signed to a national letter of intent.

His performance did not go unnoticed outside of Lee College. As a sophomore he was named to the All-Region XIV second team and was among the conference's leading scorers. He's been successful on the court since his high school days in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Redemptorist High School) where he was a first team selection to Louisiana's All-State Team.

His combination of good speed and decision making skills with the basketball could result in him getting significant playing time next season. One of the biggest issues with the Vandals this year is their inability to "shoot the lights out" on an opponent with any regularity. Delvin could be the answer the staff is looking for, and if he is expect to see him on the floor alot next season.
