If you want your college athletes to come from the highest level of competition in high school, then the state of Indiana is an excellent place to start looking. Idaho coach Leonard Perry and staff went to what many regard as the "basketball capital of the U.S." and found a gem in Power Forward prospect Keith Christmas.

How good? He would become the 3rd player on his Gary West Side High School team (ranked throughout the season by the AP among the Top 3 teams in Indiana's Class 4A league) to commit to a Division I University. The other two are Chris Hunter, a 6-10 forward committed to Michigan, and Brandon Cameron, a 6-0 guard committed to Penn State. Not bad company to keep.

Keith gave his verbal commitment to the University of Idaho in November, but has not yet signed a letter of intent. At least one publication ranks Keith among Southwestern Indiana's Top 5 forwards for the region. He's a legit 10 points, 10 rebounds type of athlete who's had monster games for top ranked West Side, including a 25 point, 19 rebound performance against rival Gary Roosevelt, and a 21 point performance earlier in the season. Not bad, considering the caliber of his teammates.

Without a doubt, a front court with 6-8 signee Radlovic on one side and Christmas on the other could develop into a force with time, especially within the Big West Conference.
