Busy off-season for Vandal recruiting class

It's been a busy offseason for the 2008 Vandal recruiting class, including incoming defensive end "HAMMERIN'" HANK BRYANT (6-4, 220) - named Defensive MVP in the East-West All Star Game recently - shown here carrying the ball for a TD during the regular season last fall. Athletes made their marks in All-Star games throughout the west, including Idaho, Hawaii, Washington, Arizona, Cali, and more.

Justin Morales, QB
Four future Vandals competed in the Southern California Bowl in January, including left-handed QB Justin Morales playing for the Coastal Team, while three athletes (kicker Trey Farquhar, linebacker Tre'shawn Robinson, and wide receivers Marsel Posey) played for the Inland Team. Another California all-star game, the Inland Empire All Star Classic, involved three future Vandals - Posey, Robinson, and Farquhar. In the 2008 605 All Star Football Classic (Southern California), wide receiver Robert Hatchett lined up for the West roster.

One of the most dominant performances may have been delivered by future defensive end Hank Bryant, who was named the Defensive MVP of the Washington Class 2A/1A East/West All-Star Game.

Out on the Islands, recruits Kama Bailey (runningback), Robert Savaii (linebacker), and Isaiah Lavea (defensive tackle) all represented Hawaii's West All-Star Team, which won 37-16 over the East. In the game Bailey returned two kickoffs for TDs (96- and 94-yards), Lavea registered a sack and recovered a fumble, and Siavii led a West defense that gave up just three second half points.

There is just one upcoming All Star games remaining that we've been informed of involving 2008 recruits: BRAD MARBOE will be playing in the Idaho High School All-Star Game, representing Team Idaho, this Saturday, July 5th at NOON CST at Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.

Congratulations to all of Idaho's all-stars on their honors this offseason.
